Update for 1/3/2014

January 3, 2014 · 1 comment

I’m still not getting as much time to blog as I’d like, but I plan to start doing a lot more writing and content creation over the next couple months, so stay tuned! In the meantime, now that we’re in the start of a new year, I thought I’d give an update on each of the projects we have going on…

HOUSE #43: THE TEAR-DOWN HOUSE

This is our first new construction project, and as of today, it’s sold! This was an incredibly interesting and educational project, and profitable as well. I’ll post a full update and final analysis on this one in the next few days.

HOUSE #46: THE WI-4 HOUSE

We sold this property last week, and it’s still a headache. Not only is this the first house we’ll ever lose money on, but the buyers have had several unforeseen issues with the house since the closing, and we’ve been working hard to make sure everything gets straightened out for them. I’ll post a final analysis and a lot more details in a few days.

HOUSE #48

This one is scheduled to close in about 10 days. Hopefully everything will go smoothly, and this will be another successful project for us.

Our House

This is going to be our new personal residence — we’ll be knocking down the existing house and building new. I plan to create a bunch of content around this project (it should be fun!), and expect that construction will begin in late Spring or early Summer — we’re currently working on surveys, engineering and permits.

I’m jealous about project #54…I LOVE historical homes. Wish I could be working on this one!
