There are plenty of these style homes I would love to do in Little Rock. But, you would have to budget for wheels that would be stolen off your vehicles.
I bet that island in the kitchen got the ladies attention. Is it custom? Or, off the shelf?
    Thanks
    Don

    Don –

The island is basically just two 30″ upper cabinets combined and anchored to the floor. So, it matches the rest of the cabinets in the kitchen, and there’s plenty of storage space in the island as well!

Amazing work…its beautiful J..this one will sell in a heartbeat! Is it in Wauwatosa?

  4. Looks great as always. Nice work!

  5. J Scott says:

    Hey Nicole –

    Yup…71st Street…

    J –
I’ve just subscribed to your updates on your website after reading many of your posts here on BP. You relocated from Atlanta to up the road to Maryland and you are rehabbing in Milwaukee. Do you keep your staging materials in local storage where you rehab?

  7. J Scott says:

    Hi Christina,

We owned about 12 houses worth of staging furniture when we left Atlanta, but given that we didn’t have many investments there when we left, we ended up selling off all of our inventory. In Milwaukee, we have another company who stages for us.

I listened to your podcast on BP, probably from abyear or two ago. Are you still using your relative as your PM and does he manage the projects out of state? Just curious- thanks!

  9. J Scott says:

    Christina –

We have a separate full-time project manager in each area where we work…dealing with out-of-state rehabs is very difficult, and without someone full-time in that location, things will slow down and start to come undone very quickly…

    J-

Re your comment on the island being 2 uppers…..from my view of the kitchen photo above it, it looks like 2 lowers attached–observe the range lower cabinets. Either way, I do like the idea. Great job, as always.

  11. J Scott says:

    Dennis –

You’re absolutely correct. I meant to say “lower” cabinets for the island, not upper cabinets. We’ve only used upper cabinets for one island, and the feedback we got from buyers was that the island was way too tall.

Hi mr. Scott Im finally going to close on my first deal thanks to you, I have a quick question, do you use hollow are solid core interior doors and why?

  13. J Scott says:

    Hey Kareem,

Hollow core unless it’s a higher-end rehab. In fact, we just built our personal residence ($700K price point), and used hollow core doors…

  14. kareem says:

Thank you very much mr scott.
