House #11: Almost Gone

October 13, 2009 · 2 comments

As I mentioned a couple weeks back, my buyer for The Sunglasses House got screwed on his financing (his broker made a mistake), and they had to start the process over with a different lender and a different underwriting strategy.

This time, the broker seemed a good bit more careful, and it looks like we’re close to getting the deal closed. The FHA underwriter had some questions about the appraisal and our repairs, and the appraiser apparently did a good job of responding to the issues. The underwriter came back again yesterday with some minor follow-up issues, and we hope that once those are addressed (this week), we’ll get a clear to close on the sale of this property.

While I don’t want to count my chickens to soon (and neither does our buyer), we’re hoping we can get to the closing table by early next week…

Wish you well on this one. Thanks for the follow-up on the last post. You are very thorough. Kudos. Now, don’t forget to take out the trash ! lol…

    Chris –

Actually, trash day was yesterday, and because it was Columbus Day, I assumed it would be pushed back to today, and therefore I didn’t take the trash out. I was wrong. Now I have a week’s worth of dirty diapers filling up my trash can, and it won’t get taken away until next week…

Thanks for rubbing it in. 😉
