But, I wonder if one can truly buy an apartment complex and not have depreciation and age delapidation catch up and eat away at your profits?

I think one can enjoy the monthly revenue for 3 or 4 years and then exit via a sale. The profit from that would be substantial and should carry one through retirement without the headache of fixing up an aging property. That would seem to undermine the entire concept of &quot;retirement&quot;!
