I have been told that horizontal cracks are the worst kind and the costliest to fix. I'll be interested hear the outcome and if he has a rough cost estimate. A good deal is a good deal. It shouldn't matter if I need to spend $1000 on new windows or $5000 on a foundation repair (especially since I'm not doing the work). If I can find a property where the money I spend bringing it up to resale condition is much less than I can sell it for, it really shouldn't matter what issues I need to fix to get it there (again, especially if I'm not doing the work myself). In theory, there shouldn't be any more stress involved in fixing this foundation problem than there is in fixing any other problem...just the added stress of having to negotiate with hard-headed banks... :) I would disagree.
